TL;DR
The ASPCA has profiled five dogs available for adoption at its New York City Adoption Center ahead of Halloween: Wriggley, Ansel, Honeybee, Higgins and Gladstone. The seasonal feature also directs people outside the New York area to local shelters and offers fostering as an alternative to adoption.
The ASPCA has featured five dogs available for adoption at its Adoption Center in New York City in a Halloween-themed appeal inviting people to meet them. The profiles describe each dog’s reported personality and favorite activities, while the organization also points readers to other adoption and foster options.
The dogs named in the feature are Wriggley, Ansel, Honeybee, Higgins and Gladstone. The ASPCA describes Wriggley as affectionate and playful, and says she responds to treats that can be used during training. Ansel is presented as a sociable dog who enjoys meeting people, receiving pets, leisurely walks and treats.
The ASPCA says Honeybee greets people with excited wiggles, enjoys belly rubs and likes carrying plush toys. Higgins is described as a young, social dog who enjoys walks and playtime. Gladstone, also characterized as enthusiastic, is said to enjoy sniffing during walks and playing fetch or tug.
The source directs prospective adopters to each dog’s profile for more information. It does not provide details such as the dogs’ ages beyond Higgins being described as young, their adoption fees, individual medical histories, or whether any have since been adopted. Their availability should be checked with the ASPCA before arranging a visit.
Adoption Options Beyond Halloween
The feature gives prospective adopters an introduction to five individual dogs and some of the activities and social behavior the ASPCA reports they enjoy. That information may help readers decide which profiles to explore, but it is not a substitute for meeting a dog or discussing its needs with shelter staff.
The organization also broadens the appeal beyond New York City. People who cannot adopt immediately can consider fostering, while those outside the New York area are encouraged to contact a local shelter. The piece therefore presents adoption and foster care as ways to support animals, rather than limiting its message to a seasonal Halloween outing.

Where Prospective Caregivers Can Look
The ASPCA says the five dogs are at its New York City Adoption Center. Its feature recommends that people who live outside the tri-state area look for adoptable animals through a local shelter. It also names Animal Care Centers of NYC and Los Angeles County’s animal care centers as additional organizations readers can visit.
For people not ready to adopt, the ASPCA identifies foster programs in Columbus, Ohio; Pawling and New York City, New York; Weaverville, North Carolina; and Los Angeles. The organization says time in foster homes can benefit dogs and cats by giving them a stay outside the shelter environment. The article does not specify program requirements or current foster openings.

Availability and Adoption Details
The ASPCA feature does not state when it was published or confirm whether all five dogs remain available now. Shelter listings can change as animals are adopted, placed in foster care or otherwise become unavailable, so readers should verify each dog’s status directly.
The source also does not provide details about the dogs’ medical or behavioral histories, compatibility with children or other pets, adoption procedures, or fees. Its descriptions are brief profiles supplied by the ASPCA, not guarantees about how a dog will behave in a particular home. No adoption outcome or event schedule is reported.
Check Profiles Before Visiting
People interested in one of the dogs can follow the ASPCA’s individual profile links and contact the New York City Adoption Center to confirm availability and learn about its adoption process. Those who live elsewhere can contact a nearby shelter, including the organizations named by the ASPCA, to ask about local animals.
Readers considering foster care can review the ASPCA’s program information for its listed locations and ask about eligibility, openings and the support provided to foster caregivers. The source announces no specific next event or deadline; the next step is for interested readers to check directly with the relevant organization.
